Guest Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Hello all. This problem happens in normal GTA:SA and also in MTA:SA. I have enclosed a screenshot. If you look, you can see the road ahead is "blacked" out. I have draw distance set as high as possible... Graphics cars is 7600GT and I'm using the latest drivers. Does any one please know how to fix this? Thanks.
chiefwhosm Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 This is called the black roads bug (oddly enough ) and it was fixed with the 1.1 patch. Problem is you can't use 1.1 with MTA, so you're stuck with it, you might be able to try older drivers and see if the bug remains. If you want to play normal SA without the bug, make a duplicate of your SA folder, rename it to something like SA 1.1 , and apply the patch to it. That way your current installation can be kept for MTA with black roads, and your newly modified 1.1 installation can be used for SA without black roads.

Guest Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Here is another better picture... As soon as I get closer to these "black boxes" they dissapear. Is there anything in GTA video settings that can actually be changed to prevent this? Thanks.
Clerlic Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 It happens because engine wants to preserve computing power by putting lower quality textures on farther objects. Nothing to do here (besides the patch).
