Error on game startup

When I start up MTA San Andreas (I downloaded MTA:SA race v1.1.1), it says, "Only GTA:SA version 1.0 is supported!" and won't open. Did I do something wrong?

You've done nothing wrong, it's just that you've bought v2.00 of GTA:SA (the only version which vendors stock now, since the whole "Hot Coffee" scandal). Since v2.00 can't be modded at all, MTA will not work with it. Therefore only v1.00 is supported and that is the version you need to play.

There is a patch for the v2.00 game which will allow MTA to be played with it in a topic at the top of the 'Help' forum but since you posted in the wrong place, I expect you didn't see it.
