Making a Server

Ok, i looked through this forum for hours, and found nothing on how to start a server. I am new to MTA, well (ive played in argonath for 2 months). I am ready to host my own server dedicated. I have hosted many counter-strike servers before so i am very skilled with dedications. Will anyone help me step by step on creating a server? thank you very much.

i tried your setup guide, but when i finished it, i clicked Run Server, the command prompt pops up and says..

ERROR : Configuration file cannot be loaded.

i just want to run a 12 man server for my clan.

ok im on a router, with 3 other comps. will that effect anything? now i just want to make a 2 man private server, for my friend and i.

That means you've either made a syntax error in your configuration file, or you've deleted the file completely.

As for private server, do you mean a server ONLY for your local network, or an internet server only for you and your friend? If it's for local network then it'll work straight off, just connect using the server's a LAN address.

If it's for internet, then just set a password in the config file, and you'll need to forward ports through your router too. Have a look at http://www.portforward.com for a guide to doing that.
