Jani
* Q: MTA crashes as soon as you start it (you either get an error reporter window or a system restart) A: This could be several things: 1. An invalid .exe file. MTA:SA R1 requires the uncensored English v1.0 exe. A third party patch is available that converts your .exe to a USA v1.0 one. Get it here. 2. Some users have managed to solve this problem by running MTA:SA in compatibility mode. Right-click the MTA:SA shortcut and select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab and adjust the settings there. 3. You are running Xfire at the same time. MTA is incompatible with Xfire. 4. Some users have reported that this can sometimes be solved by browsing to your My Documents folder and deleting the gta-sa.set settings file in the GTA San Andreas folder. 5. Make sure that you are running the latest graphics, motherboard and sound drivers for your hardware. Popular vendors are ATI, Nvidia (graphics/motherboard), Intel, VIA, SiS (motherboard/sound, Creative (sound). 6. One user has reported that uninstalling a codec pack (in his case the ace mega codec pack) fixed this issue, it may be worth trying to uninstall any similar codec packs you have installed. Guest
I get the same message too, try to uninstall SA and MTA SA but nothing is working. Can it be that the cracked .exe file is the problem ? Link to comment
Jani
Absolutely. MTA requires the original uncensored English v1.00 exe to work. If you have version 1.01, 2.00 or a non-English version, you can get the downgrade patch here: http://mtavc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15151 Link to comment
