Guest
Hi guys, i've read the wiki and i've isntalled dedicated servers for mame, cs and quake lots of times. Im running the dedicated server on my comp and when i got to connect to it using 127.0.0.1 i just get a timeout? i've tried connected in game and with the remote admin tool. i've tried my lan address 192.168.1.64, my computer name "pc1", changed the port etc. Any ideas, i've not touched anything in my router as its only local games i'm wishing to host, but surely from the same computer 127.0.0.1/localhost should work? Thanks in advance. Link to comment

Guest
And just to clarify, as im trying to connect to localhost and eventually play on my LAN there should be no need for it to access the Internet, i.e. I dont need to forward ports on the router. correct? Link to comment
Jani
Not for LAN play, no. I don't see why you can't connect, can you connect to other servers on the Internet? Do you have any firewall on your computer which may be blocking access to MTA Server.exe? Link to comment
Guest
I can connect to Internet games just fine, enjoying them as well. No firewall on my comp, only on the router. Link to comment
