Guest
Whatever happened to the status bar on your main page? It kind of helped because I didn't have to check the forums for updates. I have checked the blog, but it's kind of meaningless without a quota to fill. It's like saying, "Yeah, I wrote, but I haven't finished the essay" type thing. I'd like to know how many pages are done, you know what I mean? I know it'll be done when complete. I by no means am asking for a release date, but I would like to see the progress if possible. Oh, and please don't flame, it seems like it happens a lot here, for what seems like stupid reasons. I haven't checked this website for a long while, not until just recently, and I wish you guys the best in your mod. That is all. Thanks. Link to comment
erorr404
There is no progress bar for the simple reason that the team can't make accurate predictions on how much more work there will be. Link to comment
orappa
The progress bar was scrapped because people kept using it to make predictions on when MTA would be released, and then got angry because their predictions were wrong. Link to comment
Mnightmare
lol, it would do no good.. it would be demoralizing.. if there was a progress bar right now, it'd be at around 50%.. (cuz they first have to finish, then beta test, then RC...then fix all the bugs, then send an RC again..etc..).. so it wouldn't really do you no good.. peace Link to comment

Its very difficult to measure 'progress'. There has also been huge amounts of juggling for what's planned for r2 and r2.x. Lots of features have been pushed back so there is no definitive target. Anyways its hard to measure progress, do you increase the bar by 1% every 100 lines of code? or every feature implemented? how about fixing a bug for a feature? its kinof hard and it takes time to measure, when you could be spending that time codeing.
