Georgije Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 when i try to start MTA:SA i first get the loading picture, but then an error window opens saying: gta_sa.exe - Application ErrorThe instruction at "0x83cb2885" referenced memory at "0x83cb2885". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program has anybody got any idea what's wrong? EDIT: GTA:SA works normally and the error is still there if i reinstall MTA. MTA worked well until now.
Jani Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 When you post a help request in this section, try to give us as much information about your problem as you can. This includes the following: detailed information about the errora description of what is visually shown on screenany error noises you may hearmaybe a screenshot if possibleyour system specswhich version of the game and executable you are runningyour location Providing the above will help us out to sort your problem rather than just saying "MTA doesn't work".
Georgije Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 detailed information about the error as detailed as possible already a description of what is visually shown on screen the loading picture (multitheftauto, stop playing with yourself) which then disappears in 5 seconds, then the error window appears any error noises you may hear the usual one maybe a screenshot if possible your system specs Prestigio nobile 157 laptop Windows XP SP2, 512 MB RAM, Intel centrino M 1,6 GHz processor, ATI radeon 9700 mobility 64 MB graphics card which version of the game and executable you are running the original game, 1.0 i think. the MTA version is the latest available your location slovenia
Jani Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 "Thinking" that you have 1.0 is not good enough. You need to be sure that it is definately 1.0
Georgije Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 how do i make sure of that? and it's certainly a compatible version because it worked nicely since MTA:SA came out until today
Jani Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Oh, so it has worked with MTASA before? In that case uninstall MTA and GTA, then reinstall GTA and then MTA. Make sure you don't modify any files when you install, MTA will not work with anything modified.
Jani Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Yes. Your save games are stored in a subdirectory in your My Documents folder, and they aren't touched by the uninstall. If you'd still like to back them up anyway, you can find them here: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files GTASAsf1.b, GTASAsf2.b etc are the save files.
Georgije Posted June 15, 2006 Author Posted June 15, 2006 ok thanks, i'll try uninstalling, although GTA:SA still works
