I recently installed GTA 1.0 in my friends computer and when she logs in, the game just crashes. She doesn't know much about this so I'm asking myself, for her.

. It's a memory related issue.
It could be that your friend's PC have low RAM available (ran out of memory) or the server is abusing memory (badly optimized scripts/mods, memory leaks).
In general it is worth considering that the computer has only integrated graphics and this takes some memory from RAM.
Also, upgrading to a 64-bit OS can also be a solution.
