i cant start MTA

i cant start it up adn the screen just goes black and then pourple and it wont shutdown until 5 minutes. is this normal? or is it a firewall or something cuz i got the program installed right and gtasa worx just fine on my comp but not mta. if someone knows what to do pls answer
