Catzilla
Exactly, when you're formatting you're also erasing all the rest of the files (like music, documents, game installations ). If you have a brain that can comprehend Volkov Commander, smrtdrv and DOS, you will have a clean install without losing data or wasting a dvd for it. Link to comment
finn_bryant
thats true... but i have a folder on my mac in which i put all the install files ive ever used on my pc, i also sync my documents so ive always got a place to backup quickly from, and sometimes the applications are the problem, eg if the uninstall misses something. anyway, lets just let the thread die, its done its job. ><CHAIN><
Exactly, when you're formatting you're also erasing all the rest of the files (like music, documents, game installations ). That is the whole point of a format. Unfortunately, most people don't realise that a format is not a 'complete' fresh start for a disk, hence my comments on partition and MBR...If you have a brain that can comprehend Volkov Commander, smrtdrv and DOS, you will have a clean install without losing data or wasting a dvd for it. lmao wot? Just have 2 partitions; one for windows and another for data/games etc. Whether this is on a single disk or a disk for each, means no dvd backup anyway... you only need smartdrv if your installing NT/2000/XP using a Win98 boot diskette/cdrom and that's usually done by people who have a pirate copy that doesn't have the NT/2000/XP boot loader anyway, lets just let the thread die, its done its job.agreed!
