Guest Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 does mta:vc 0.5 need an unmodified gta3.img to run properly (as in no addon cars)? I'm getting the "i have a modified client and i should reinstall" error and i have reinstalled mta 3 times, tried multiple exe's, set the version to either 1.0/1.1, and have tried replacing weapon.dat/weapon.mta (basically everything i can think of except reinstalling gta vc) Any help please?

Guest Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 o yeah, like kenny said, I also tweaked some of the ini files (handling, carcols, surface) are these included as "modding" gta so it wont work with mta?
orappa Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Yeah, you need a clean install. If you want to keep your mods, reinstall GTA to a second directory and keep that one clean for MTA. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.

Guest Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 all right ty every1 so far, now i got a clean install of both gta vc and mta 0.5, but after i get in the game and load the level it will either ctd directly or give me the "not taking error reports" error. I looked on the known issues thread and I tried the 1.1 vc patch, but it didn't help. HELP PLS!

I dont have any handling files modded. carcols.dat just changes the vehicle color that spawns on the road on GTA, and replay text remover is just american.gxt edit.
