Guest Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Can MTA be played on Local Area Network??? If it can, can anyone tell me how? What settings must i configure? Is there any guide about the LAN capabilities of MTA?
ChrML Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 You can pretty easily host MTA (assuming you talk about 0.5) at a LAN. You have to set up a server and it's configuration at one computer (like any other game at LAN), then in the client connection dialog you simply put the host computer's LAN IP into it (for example 10.0.0.5) and hit Connect . It will be just as easy in Blue. Linus Torvalds: "Software is like sex: it's better when it's free."
Jani Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 192.168.x.x is where it's at. Make sure to use the Search feature before posting a new topic. Click here for detailed MTA: San Andreas server setup guides.
Sanction Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 if you dont know ur LAN ip u could just put 127.0.0.1 which is a loop back to the LAN 192.168.x.x is where it's at. Not always. it is a mainly used LAN ip setup but not all have it. and you can also change it. sig picture was way too big http://www.Operation.hn.org MTA IRC Logs
orappa Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 If you are connecting to yourself, use 127.0.0.1 or localhost. If you are connecting to others, use their network IP which is normally 192.168.x.x. To get the server IP, go to Start > Run (on the server machine) and type cmd. Then type ipconfig and note down the address in the IP Address field. MTA:SA FAQ - Read this before asking questions. MTA:SA Troubleshooting - Read this first if you have problems.
ChrML Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 My network is 10.x.x.x. That was also the IP range in the last LAN I was at. Linus Torvalds: "Software is like sex: it's better when it's free."
