Try playing on windowed mode, it helps reducing lag. Turn vertical sync OFF in your nvidia\amd control panel.

Try deleting gta_sa.set from my documents>GTA San Andreas User Files

My brightness is on 100%, on full screen my game is very bright and clear, once I switch to windowed mode the screen is so dark I can barely see where i'm going. Why is that happening, and is there any way to fix? Thanks in advance.

I used to pay like 1.3 euro for a 5slot server in serverffs.com, and that was excellent, had my FTP access too. But now they're sort of dead, not sure what happened. This server will be used for mapping mostly, so a strong host isn't needed. I just need something stable.

I need a host-per-slot hoster, capacity of maximum 5 players, i've checked almost every topic in here, either the hoster's website is DEAD or they don't accept purchases under 20 slots. If anybody knows one, please let me know in here, or skype (parasight777). Thanks a bunch!

Once you turn off your overclocking program in windows, problem will get solved. (It never happens if you overclock @bios)

update: Resolution: 1920x1200 Draw Distance 100%, brightness 100%, volumetic shadows on, grass effect on, aero desktop enabled, fx quality very high, AF 16x, AA 3x, aspect ratio 16:10, opacity: 100%, asynchronous loading: ON. got only 3 freezes in 20 minute gameplay, latest nightly is much better! thanks for your help, and please leave this topic open as i'll try to update if any problem occurs http://www.2shared.com/file/j8CI9ulp/timings.html > after lagging on different settings

does it matter on which settings I play? maximum settings would be fine? or high reso with no AA, please let me know i'll try to do this check asap

the FPS is dropping due to the freeze ccw any no it does not happen on low resolutions

that made my settings go default (800x600), but the game runs 10 times smoother now (maybe its the lower reso?) when I switched back to 1920x1200 it lags again

It might improve the smoothness on your MTA, try it... Try playing around with the settings to improve your gaming. oh believe me, I did.. i'm having these problems for over 1 month now and never thought about reporting it here, tried almost every possible setting inside and outside MTA

This should not be necessary on a computer as well equipped as 'parasight's. Do FPS drops occur on all servers? Do the freezes occur after MTA has been running for a little while, i.e. are there fewer freezes when first joining a server? they occur on most of servers, im pretty sure they happen in all of them. it does not matter how long MTA has been running for, it happens anytime there are few freezes (fps goes really down 30~20) when im joining a server. also, when changing player in spectating mode it lags like hell, i've spammed the left arrow earlier and my fps went to 4~10. my game runs very very smooth, i'm playing on 49 fps limit servers but I feel like i'm playing with over 60, everything runs perfect plus im on FHD reso and AA/AF on maximum atm but those FPS drops appear with no reason it's kind of freaking me out since i'm on a top quality computer that runs many games perfectly and yet MTA is making troubles, it has to be a problem in MTA itself!

here: http://i45.tinypic.com/ev6tr4.jpg it's important that I mention back in mta 1.2 I used to run with everything on maximum without rarely any fps drops/freezes, right now they are reduced due to the drops I get but that doesn't really help

update: deleted newest version, installed an older one. https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/mtasa-1.3-rc-4058-20120504.exe FPS is 52\51 permanent, there's something wrong in the newer versions, check it out 2nd edit: nope... still happening. i give up
