Ring_of_Fire Posted January 18, 2008 Share Posted January 18, 2008 There are 3 reasons why MTA may crash after the splash screen: 1. Incorrect EXE. This means you are not running a version 1.0 executable.2. Incompatibility with 2nd Edition or incompatibility with German, European, and Australian versions. 3. MTA Race still installed or "MTA" folder missing in "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas" game directory. The fix for #1 is to simply downgrade here. For people who have warez copy, find a v1.0 crack. Note: You DON'T have to uninstall/reinstall your game! Even if you installed the "No More Hot Coffee" patch, it can still be kept. All MTA:DM cares about is the actual exe itself. As for #2, I am not sure whether or not MTA:DM will crash if there are core files that it doesn't know about. I believe you can just downgrade the executable alone or apply a v1.0 crack and should still work. viewtopic.php?f=61&t=15151 If the link doesn't help after downgrading the exe to v1.0, then MTA:DM obviously isn't compatible with German/European versions and so will have to buy, get, steal, borrow, or torrent a USA version. Oops, it supports European/Australian versions actually. But I am not sure if it supports German, though. And if you have Steam/Trymedia/Direct2Drive/Gamesload, you can probably forget about it as it ain't gonna happen. Now for #3, all one has to do is to simply reinstall MTA:DM and it will overwrite any MTA Race files that may conflict with MTA:DM. It's a good idea to just uninstall Race, but if you do, you will need to reinstall MTA:DM again since the folder paths and filenames are exactly the same (unless you changed the defaults folder addresses before installing). But you may then have the FIX FOR CRASH AFTER LAUNCHING SERVER! *NOTE* So far, MTA is going to work on these versions ONLY if you downgrade the exe to verson v1.0: - North American - European/Australian - German (not sure though) But not these ones: - Steam - Gamesload - Trymedia - Direct2Drive Link to comment
