will briggs Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) Greetings, I recently have been running a few compatibility tests on windows 8 and I thought id try MTA and GTA:SA After a little while, i got an error saying that pthreadVC2.dll was missing to run GTA SA. It is not included in system32 in windows 8 You can download the DLL without any stupid surveys or timers etc from http://windows.willbriggs.co.uk/pthreadVC2.dll Place the DLL in your system32 and hey presto, SA works on Windows 8 Although this might be a useless threat at the moment, it might help a few people along the line Cheers UPDATE : 08/06/12 - After using MTA intensely for over 2 weeks now i have found a few issues - they are listed bellow - DX issues with FPS - Averaging 8fps - 20 fps on a high spec computer - Errors with peds and some elements on the map, They appear to be 'Incomplete' and bugged Thats All Thanks Edited June 8, 2012 by Guest

0 SugarD-x Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Maybe it's time MTA:SA also includes a "tile" for Windows 8 users too.

0 Woovie Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Just installed Win8 Enterprise. Was having this issue and it was on the first Google result page. I suppose a proper solution ( Find what software requires the DLL and install it ) should be done instead of just downloading the .dll
0 MTA Team ccw Posted August 4, 2012 MTA Team Posted August 4, 2012 pthreadVC2.dll is included in the MTA/ directory. Try copying it to the GTA install dir to see if that fixes it.
0 GrandTheftGamer Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 pthreadVC2.dll is included in the MTA/ directory. Try copying it to the GTA install dir to see if that fixes it. This worked for me.
0 MTA Team ccw Posted August 13, 2012 MTA Team Posted August 13, 2012 It's also fixed in latest nightly https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/?mtasa-1.3-rc-latest

Place the DLL in your system32 and hey presto, SA works on Windows 8
Although this might be a useless threat at the moment, it might help a few people along the line
Cheers
