Guest
Hey! I'm interested in setting up a server to play MTA on. Typically I just run the server from the computer that I'm playing on. I have a spare computer with the following specs: Windows XP SP2 1.0ghz cpu 256mb ram 40gig hd (both have always on cable connection) Would that support mta with about 5 people? Would there be any performance boost if I ran my server on that computer instead of the one I'm currently using? Here are my current PC specs (this one usually runs the server and client) Windows XP SP2 2.6ghz cpu 1.25gb ram 180gb hd What would you recommend that I do? I'm interested in getting the best performance too. Thanks! John Link to comment
Slothman
although it's less cpu, It's still more than a server needs. It's a good idea to run the server on a dedicated pc instead of the one your using if it's possible. the other factor involved could be server scripts, they can be cpu hogs. overall the real bottleneck in your setup will be your internet connection, not the systems themselves. Slothman
the throughput is unpredictable. It depends on how popular your server is. there are way to many factors to be able to predict a days throughput, let alone a months. Link to comment
actingbiz1
Roughly. on average 5-10 members on a day for a 30 day month? Link to comment
