Revolt Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I guess that the title says the most of it. There are a lot of people trying to sell their resources at the 'Resources' section, but mainly end up unsuccessful. Wouldn't it be cool the MTA Team created the official MTA resource and script store. It would surely make it easier for both the people who wish to sell and the ones who want to buy resources. Not to mention that it would eliminate possibility of seller being a scammer, since the the admins and moderator could verify the resources before listing them officially? What do you think?
dk99 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Nah, it doesn't really matter. You can start your own website and make a script store system. It doesn't even take a little effort to do so. How can someone scam you when you test the script before buying it? ;p
Revolt Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 People often disbelieve in the legitimacy of your custom store. I think it would be better to have an official one, that way we would have a hub for both sellers and buyers. And also people would not be afraid of script not working since it would have to be confirmed by a trustworthy admin or moderator.
Army@1 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 If people are agree to give some share or percentage of the gain then I see no problem in it.
therainycat Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 1. Every resource must be verified before it can be sold. This means that resource author must give all source codes to the shop, not just compiled files 2. To validate resources there must be someone who will read all scripts and make sure that it works and is harmless. Noone will do this for free as it takes much time, also it can't be done by community (as source code will be stolen). Also, each resource must be fully tested (not just run for a few seconds) as errors may occur after few minutes / hours / days of work (memory leak?) The shop can't give any warranty for each resource someone wants to sell, so there's no difference between selling resources in the shop or in other way. It's not that easy as it sounds. Maybe you have any suggestions on how to solve these problems?
MTA Team qaisjp Posted January 2, 2016 MTA Team Posted January 2, 2016 IMO it would be safer for the MTA devs not to have a store. Sellers can open up their own webstore on squarespace.
