MTA SA 1.4.0 Debian can't start server

Hello,

I have installed a 1.4.0 MTA server on my VPS and when I try and start the server using ./mta-server in the directory it's in, it says there is no such file or directory.

I have logged in to my FTP and the file is clearly there and it is called mta-server.

I am logged in as root.

What do I do?

Make sure that mta-server file has an executable flag set.

You can set it by running this command in ssh (navigate to your mta server directory first):

chmod +x mta-server

I ran the command and it still didn't work.

Im using putty if you needed to know that as well.

I just realised I am using x64 for MTA instead of i386. Does this matter?

I am using a 768mb VPS.

That was teh tutorial I was following. Now that I realised it was 64bit, I tried installing the 64bit packages.

I added the architecture to i386 but when I tried installing the ia32-libs, it still says it can't install.

EDIT: Nevermind, I forgot to apt-get update
