Loading vehicle upgrades on map start

I want to add an upgrade at mapstart. Is this code right?

afaik it looks good but i think it should be like this

local id = tonumber ( id )   
local car = getPedOccupiedVehicle ( thePlayer ) 
addVehicleUpgrade(car,1079) 
end 
addEventHandler("onResourceStart", getRootElement(), setPlayerWheel) 
addEventHandler("onMapStarting", getRootElement(), setPlayerWheel)

You need to add the event. Refer to the MTA Race Wiki for more information.

addEvent("onMapStarting", true)

"thePlayer" is not defined anywhere.
