Best way to learn is by doing it yourself, really. The MTA Wiki will be your best friend.

Start off with something simple and go from there, read about how variables works and how you can manipulate them, it will make your life much easier. If you get to a halt, don't lose hope and give up - keep trying, and if you really need help - we're here to help you in this forum.
