(Though our own server is not out of question.) Currently we have a few projects in various states, that are on schedule, but without an experienced team, we can't step forward fast enough. (why did I put independent there? wee the rant at the bottom) The current resources and multi-resource projects are the following (working titles only). The list is huge, but Rome wasn't built in 2 days, not to mention we don't have to make all of them. Choices will be made. Below you can see some of the resources they will use. Those are explained later. apocalypseRP This gamemode is based on the ever-popular DayZ mod in the main setting, however it's more story driven, but still open world. Think of it as an MMO with a bunch of quests, only not all quests are part of the current time. (I hope you follow.) The ultimate goal is discovery, putting the pieces together, playing user created missions or just tackling on a short co-op adventure. You can see that this is not as competitive as DayZ, so think of it as a Walking Dead MMO with user powered content and an open world base from which you can open side quests. resources used: 2Dinventory, NPC system, body xtreme This gamemode pack is a cross-over between xtreme sports games and includes varoiuos motorsports and some athletic ones. Most of them are separate resources, so I'll just write the currently planned sport genres (not all of them are competitive and not all of them are separated gamemodes, some will bemerged into an MMO type thingy). drift motoX BMX, dirt, downhill several rally types parkour tagwars (a parkour based graffiti tagging contest) climbing (parkour and hiking combination with some rock-climbing elements) several skydiving based sports, such as base-jumping and I would put bungee here more to come later? pro race An open world driving simulator (both street and track, legal and illegal) with RP elements. This would combine racing, drifting, RP, trucking and tuning with an upgraded physics resource and user created events and races. People would need not only a car, but a crew and would have to take care of their character (not as in-depth as Sims, just some basic RP things) and manage their events. resources: carparts, carphysics, events personal rant: I had the moderately crazy idea of creating a group that's goal would be to create such resources that no-one have seen or everyone wants. This is mostly because the Mod, or at least the creative community, is starting to repeat itself. When was the last time someone uploaded a resource that's truly great and original? Almost everyone who is worth mentioning is working for a server/developing their own, except a few people. (I'm only talking about resource devs, not the MTA team.) 2d inventory A tile based inventory, where items can be combined, used in various ways and would have real sizes. Also the inventories themselves would function as items and they would respond to the world in various ways. NPC system In this resource we would try to get close the NPCs you can see in professional RPGs today. But in multiplayer! This means they will have dialogs that change depending on the players past and use every aspect of the currently available MTA AI resources. They will be able to drive (at least predefined routes), fight, defend, attack, flee, use inventories and respond to global and local scale events. carparts and carphysics The earlier will simulate the health of certain components of the vehicle and the latter will make these effects appear in the gameplay. For example: you crash you car into a wall-->you crash your head into the windshield-->the windshield cracks. Or: the battery and cooler gets damaged-->the water flows hot from the engine and battery acid also-->you can't start the engine body It's like the carphysics resource, but for the peds' body parts. Think of it as a port of the Fallout body part system. events Local events started by players. These can vary in size and there will be a global limit for events, so there won't be a situation where everyone is waiting for others to show up on their event. You will also be able to create certain types of events in a separated dimension. Local races in the xtreme gamemodes will use this, so you can start a drag race with someone without affecting anyone else in any way. Edited August 22, 2013 by Guest Link to comment
