MTA Server Setup (help needed)

Hello, community! I just need a little bit of help here. I guess it's not tolerated here to say that I come from SA-MP, but still - I find SA-MP server installation is way easier. MTA is mystery for me. So I opened a map editor (which is just great & wunderbar), made up a small map and placed some cars. Now I want to start a local server to play with my friends. But I don't understand some things - can you guys help me?

1) Cars do not respawn once blown. Do I need to set this somewhere? I didn't find appropriate setting.

2) How to set spawnpoints? I can't find it either - we just spawn @ Grove Street. Is there a way to add skin selector, etc.? Mystery.

3) So I downloaded & compiled MTA server. I have already checked the wiki - I can't find where to set the gamemode. What do? I can't even find where do I set a gamemode in server settings. I can do it from client though (thru "host" button).

4) Finally, all of the gamemodes are pretty strange - I just want a simple respawn with weapons. Without F1 enabled and other things. Where do I code my own gamemode (I know Lua)? This looks so complicated apart from SA-MP.

I'm 12 and what is this I don't even.

1) may depend on gamemode

2) depend on gamemode. on default freeroam there is no way to set spawnpoints via map editor. keep in mind that resource called "play" is respawning players (and well, it's all that it does) - this is a gamemode. "freeroam" is gui with all freeroam stuff, but it's not a gamemode itself (it doesn't spawn players)

3) don't compile server by yourself, use precompiled packages. server resources are available here: https://community.multitheftauto.com

4) check server config files. try to disable everything you think you dont need. make sure "play" resource is set to autostart. look at the code of this resource - it may help you to write own simple gamemode. you can start "freeroam" as well to have freeroam stuff available.
