MTA Not Starting/Freezing

Hello everyone,

I've recently quit playing MTA for a 2 weeks. Than returned, wanted to start MTA 1.3 but nothing was happening, however it was appearing in Processes: Multi Theft Auto.exe and gta_sa.exe. GTA San Andreas works well, and I even tryed restarting PC, ending process and trying to restart, and reinstalled MTA 1.3. Than went on MTA website, and downloaded the 1.3.1 version. Installed it, and same problem occured, once again, MTA was not starting... But after like 5 minutes, suddenly MTA Window opened... I waited, and finally MTA Opened, so I could see the menu 'Browse Servers' etc. But when I just got happy, 2 seconds later, the entire MTA Frozen... I wasn't able to move the cursor. I got no idea which could be the problem, but I'm pointing, had this problem before cleaning Registry too.

Any help is welcome, thank you!!

Please download and run MTADiag and follow the instructions.

Also, stop using registry cleaners because they accomplish nothing at best, and can cause severe problems at worse. There is absolutely zero benefit to "optimizing" or "cleaning" the registry.

Nothing fixed at all... MTA Started normally than frozen, just like normal.

Please install the following:

• Graphics driver
  
• Audio driver
  
• Chipset drivers
  
• Ethernet driver (do a Repair install if prompted)
  
• Storage driver

Provide another MTADiag log after installing.

Now here's a problem.. Now MTa starts slower, when it eventually does I can move the cursor but it works like I have max 10 FPs in the menu which is really strange (Thought a while and... I got banned from a server, after that didn't play MTA 3 days, and after this break period it stopped working). Though I'm still open to your suggestions, just telling so you know.

Neither the audio driver nor the storage driver installed successfully, try installing them again please.

Does GTA:SA single player work without issues?

Negative, GTA:SA Single player works PERFECTLY (I also play SA:MP since MTA doesn't work, and it works just fine).

Going to reinstall Audio and Storage driver and put in the log again!

Still doesn't work

EDIT: I found something really intresting... MTA Works just perfectly, after reinstall, AS LONG AS THE 'Enter your nickname' GUI is open.,.. I even connected on a server with that GUI open, but once I closed it it was all just freezing... Also MTA works when I minimise it but it doesn't when I maximize, for more than 10 seconds... Any ideas on this ?

Jeeesus... It was working perfectly yesterday...

If you could that wuold be awsome.. I re-reinstalled GTA:SA and installed MTA and GTA in separate folders... still no fix.

Could you place https://nightly.multitheftauto.com/files/out/tasklist.exe into C:\WINDOWS\system32 then provide another MTADiag log? We really could use a process list.

So just copy it, not launch it right ? I already had a file so I used replace... The file was larger than what you gave me, guess that will fix the problem... Log incoming!

Odd, there is still no tasklist in the log. Could you open a command prompt (Start -> run -> "cmd.exe" -> enter), enter "tasklist >C:\task.txt", then open C:\task.txt and paste its contents at Pastebin and link to it here?

I can't do it... "Error: Server execution failed"... It's sooo frustrating, I want to play

Do you think reinstalling windows might fix the problem ?

Huh? You get that error when you try to enter that command in the command prompt? If so, that really sounds like some Windows issue. If you are able to, I think you should reinstall Windows.

reinstalling windows worked! I got my old FPS back along with fully functional MTA! Thank you a lot Towncivilian.
