Editor issue

Just recently i reinstalled xp and all the usual trimmings. For the first time i noticed that my mapping would save, be viewable in the saved maps list when continuing on to save again however, when i would shut down the editor and start it up later, my map would not show in the list under open file button in the editor. I looked into the directory and found the maps and their meta files too. Why does my mta 1.2 editor not see my saved work...? lol Please and thank you for your help on this roadblock.
