Need a race script!

Hi all, could you help me to make a script which:

lets players join the race when they connect to my server, so that they dont have to wait till the ongoing race is finished.

I asked on the irc chat ,and they told me it needs a script. still i hope it has any other options ,so if you know a fix for this i would be very gladfull!

easiest 'fix' is to enable respawn

otherwise you'll need to edit the race gamemode and how it works which is very complicated to do. I suggest https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/Scr ... troduction for learning to script first.

Thanks for the reply! but i had something different in mind i think

so the problem in other words:

if im playing on the server and someone joins after me he doesnt spawn

if we conncect at the same time (like at a new race) we spawn at the start and respawn when we die.

So the problem is there if somebody is joining the game after it started he has to w8 till we finish the race.

Respawn works perfectly

Do you know if there is a setting to fix this?

I don't think you need to wait until the race is over. There could be this small text saying "press B to spawn now" right after you join. Check that you don't actually miss it.

This can actually be changed. Admin panel -> Resources -> Race and search for something like "allow join-spectating" and set it to false or so.

The race gamemode should handle joining players and spawn them providing respawn option is turned on for the map.
