This only happens to me on MTA. Randomly when I'm playing, I get switched to desktop, happens like 3 times in a row every 10 minutes or so. It is really annoying and it disrupts my gameplay, how can I stop this? I remember like 2 days ago for one day it didn't happen but then it continued.

Make sure your keyboard has no stuck keys, maybe re-plug mouse/keyboard in a different USB port, restart Windows...

Hmm, this has been going on for a while now, I've restarted my PC many many times.

Happened to me before, it wasn't an issue, it was me who was pressing the Alt for walk and the Tab for see how many players are playing in the server.
