MTA Resolution Problem

hi, i installed mta san andreas but i have resoulution 1600x1200x16 and when i try to change it and restart its nothing happens, while my lcd monitor looks perfect at 1280x960 and in game i have 1280x960...i try everything, changing the resolution in game, changing resolution in shortcut, pls help

Delete the gta_sa.set file located in the GTA San Andreas User Files in your Documents folder/library (Windows Vista and 7 users) or My Documents directory (Windows XP users) and try again.
