Creating a new server

Hi,

I'm Rockypi and I've been asked to create a topic for a new RPG server. To be clear, I'm not the owner. I'm some kind of a helping hand.

But I created this topic because the new server -which has no name at the moment- is still looking for some people to join the crew. We would still need some scripter(s), and some others useful persons.

First of all, let me present the server:

As you all know, a lot of RPG servers turn bad or are faking each other. What we want, is to create a totally new server. We will of course use some community scripts, but we also want to be unique in our own way. We aren't doing this for the money or the respect, but for the love in this game.

It's more than just being able to command a bunch of players, it's the idea of creating something where every one enjoys playing. An RPG is for us the best way to express that.

The server will not be looking like any server where you can play on at the moment, not only the organization will be different, but we hope also the scripts.

But unfortunately, Tim (tim260) and I aren't scripters (Tim is already looking to expand his scripting to lua, but this takes time, and I haven't got enough time for that at the moment). So this is a message to scripters and mappers (we can map too, but some additional person can always be usefull) to apply for the job.

We hope to find decent persons who aren't looking for new scripts. And please, keep in mind that we will check your name to see if you are indeed an experienced and reliable person. We understand that this service isn't free, but the payment might depend on who you are and how experienced you are.

If you would like to offer your experience to this new server, please pm me as soon as possible.

It would also be useful if you could send me some things you've done recently and what you expect of such kind of server.

Not to be negative, but you should note there are also plenty of RPG servers which are not 'bad' nor fake each other. If it's just for the love of the game, I would recommend saving the effort and just playing on one.

There must have been hundreds of failed RPG servers over the last few years, using the format SA**.

Anyway, if you're certain you want to operate the proposed server; good luck.

Well Callum, I know just like anyone else that CIT, SAES, SAUR and SANL are (or were for SANL) the big ones in this kind of gaming. And I have a lot of respect towards these servers.

But with that sentence I was talking about severs who copy others and call it their own work. Or other who call htemslves RPG while its something else.

However, this is topic to look for scripters. (We'll take care of payment too)
