Client can't shoot from vehicle

Deltanyne

Question

First off, I just registered and I'd like to say this product you've been working on is fantastic. Props to all those involved in development. It's a great, easy to use interface for the editor, scripting easy to understand and logical. Keep up the good work.

This has been asked before but I have tried everything suggested.

I've recently begun setting up a Deathmatch map in Las Venturas and included cars for drive bys. I'm setting this up in map editor but when I go into test mode or connect as a client, I cannot shoot from bikes or standard cars. Tanks, the Hydra, SWAT APC all work fine but when I press 'Q' or 'E' (with an SMG selected) and my fire button it doesn't shoot. I've tried all keys/mouse buttons, I've tried binding different keys and even tried removing all binds and just locking down basic movement and shoot.

Is there an ACL that controls this? Is it not allowed in the Deathmatch game mode? I just can't figure out why. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm only new to this and I'm building the map for a LAN that's happening in about a month. I realize that there is no free look shooting from vehicles like in GTA4 but I thought you'd at least be able to shoot straight ahead while on a bike.

Hi Deltanyne

The look left/right driveby is disabled in MTA due to the fact that when it was first introduced, it was too unbalanced because of the autoaim. Instead, players freeaim like in gta4. This can be enabled by starting the 'realdriveby' resource, and pressing the Right Mouse Button to go into aim mode.

Experimental support for classic drivebys was once added, but it was unstable so we've stuck to free-aim drivebys for both passengers and drivers.
