Serial Banned issue

I have been banned from a server that I play on all the time. I built a new system, so i am sure my system has a new serial. I am an admin on another server so it is very easy to see my serial number. I pm'd site admins with my serial and i.p., yet they find no bans? Is it possible that I copied the serial wrong? Or is there some other issue.

Let me know if there is any new info you need and I will provide it for you.

As I read some documentation...does mta generate a serial on install? or are bans computer serial specific? I had two admins look through the serial ban list and couldnt find my serial on it. What could cause that?

And btw, i checked my serial, I gave them the right one

You aren't going to find any support with changing your serial here, or information about serial generation.

It's possible that the server administrators are simply pulling your leg and may have just banned you on sight once you returned, or they banned you via IP and that ban is still in effect. You mentioned you got a new computer, but nothing about having a different IP.

Im not asking for help on that. The admins on Mr Greens couldnt find my serial in the ban list. I am an Admin on -]alw[- server and have been for a looooong time. Im just curious if there is something odd going on? or if there is something that both groups dont know.

And regarding the ban on site. I have raced there for a long time and am friends with all the admins. I never even got to connect to the server...it was full. I let it auto connect till a spot was open. as soon as one came open, pops up. "serial is banned"

I suppose he could be pulling my leg, but I doubt it.

And my ip is the same? Im on a router and used whats my ip to see what it is. I gave that to them too...nothing.

So I guess what I am asking is where the serial is generated? is it computer specific or install specific? And if so does it happen when mta is installed or gta? I have a legal disk since 2005 lol, so that isnt a problem

So if you're friendly with the admins, how did you get banned in the first place? Perhaps ask them to unban your old/other serial and see what happens from there. Maybe an MTA developer will shed some more light on this.

Edited last post again lol. I gave my old computer to my Dad. I have no idea what the serial was on that. And if i have a new computer with a new serial, that would work around a serial ban anyway.

Regarding the how did i get banned question, I have no idea and neither did they. I havent been on in two days since i built my new system.

Like I said, we can't tell you how the serial is generated. Can the server in question check some sort of logs to find out your banned serial and unban it?

Im sure they could. but I was on irc chatting with one of them, I pm'd him my serial. He looked it up and said he couldnt find it and had no idea what to do.

I told them I would post here looking for an answer.

So no, my serial is NOT in the ban log and neither is my ip.

Well I do appreciate your help and thank you for your assistance.

In the meantime i will completely uninstall gta (which i havent dont) and reinstall mta 1.0.4 again (which i have done) and see if my serial is different when i log in as an admin on the -]alw[- server.

reinstalling the game and system and everything won't help with serial changing - this is what i can tell you. stop trying - it's worthless.

Thanks for that. The problem is you've copied the serial incorrectly. Serials have 32 characters.

I copied it right out of the window, those were the only characters I saw. We used /whowas "nick" and i screen shotted it and gave it to SDK. That helped lol.

And the issue is....I HAVE THE SAME SERIAL AS A HACKER. Someone named johnny_vc.

What are the odds of that?
