Guest
Now that I have your attention. Before the last version which introduced a new server list, I never had much trouble connecting to servers and getting in, cept I had to wait a couple of seconds for the list to load. No big deal. With the new server list, it's wonderfully fast... Gotta love it, cept for the fact that each time I try to join a server, my client will randomly crash.. or not. First I thought it depended on which server I would join.. However after being forced to reset my comp over 20 times on a single day(I run a dedicated server for FEAR, a chat server and people depend on me for other stuff as well such as torrents, resetting my computer is a big drain of time, and alot of ppl get pissed off when it happens) I found out that it's pure randomness. When I get the issue, my MTA will simply freeze. I can try to alt tab, I can see my mouse pointer moving over the Task manager which is at the background, but I cannot use it, as MTA stays on the foreground. My computer is fine, in rare occasion I can close the game and simply continue however most of the time I am forced to hit the reset button. Last time I had trouble like this is when my brothers computer was infected so badly the HD was eventually thrown away, this was in the 20th century. Imagine how I despise MTA right now... Basicly, some small retard issues cause me to be unable to play MTA. I cannot play a game which MAY or MAY not work in my current situation. Don't try to tell me it's my comp, my GTA version, or my fault in SOME way... It is not. In my life there's been less than 10 games which I have played for more than 2 months. I've been a hardcore gamer since 91'. MTA is one of those less than 10 games. Don't take it away, give the old server browser back. I don't care waiting longer, if it allows me to PLAY. A desperate call, from a true gamer. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
lukkie[BE]
Yeh True, I FUCKING hate it too, like 2/3 times i try to connect a server I crash.. Link to comment
number9
I have the same problem. before updating, it would crash on connecting every now and then, now its like 19 times out of 20 it will crash. doesnt matter if i double click, or hit connect. also doesnt matter which server i pick, or how many times i refresh the server list. I'm lucky that I have dual monitors and have task manager open on the other one to kill mta_sa.exe, or i would have to restart every time too and be even more pissed. Its probably some issue with the site that hosts the server list maybe. MTA Race is hands down the most fun racing game I've ever played, It would be great if I could actually connect to the servers to play tho. Or if you guys could implement gamepad support in MTA_DM, that would be great too...joy2key and MKcontrol dont quite cut it. Link to comment
Scarr
Uninstall it and go back to MTA v1.1.1 Link to comment
Guest
Number9, I have been experiencing the complete, exact same as what you described. I'm happy that it indeed is not me, but the client. Downgrading does not work as I do not get a server list at all. In the end I hope to find a DM version which also supports MTA Race. I am not a sports fan, certainly not a driving fan... But MTA Race can get anyone addicted to it. Link to comment
Pyro-Psycho
Same thing has been happening to me. Really, really annoying. Especially since MTA is my only option for gaming at the moment with about a 5 year struggling computer and my roomates went home for the summer and took their consoles. Link to comment
Guest
Antiga, MTA:Race 1.1.1 is the only viable version right now. Of course the server browser won't work, but you can just use game-monitor.com as a substitute or just go to the same server every time (*wink* littlewhitey's *wink*). MTA:Race 1.1.2 is a disaster right now. I have the same problems with freezing and that is much more annoying than a non-working server browser, that's for sure! You can get the map editor to work easily, by just installing on top of 1.1.1 or renaming the map editor folder. Pickups can also be fixed by copying from 1.1.1 or again just installing on top of it, but why bother. 1.1.1 is the way right now. Just hope the MTA team decide to fix 1.1.2. Link to comment
