Ring_of_Fire
MUST SEE! -> http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?show ... 1057422965 Many of you were very frustrated when having to try almost everytime to get the mouse to work after launching an MTAVC server. Here's the solution: 1. Launch an MTAVC server as normal.2. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL immediately 3. Select Start Task Manager. 4. Under the Processes tab, right click the gta-vc.exe executable. 5. Set the priority to Below Normal. "Low" works as well but "Below Normal" is highly recommended. "Realtime/High/Above Normal" never works! It would be also a good idea to switch the priority back to "Normal" during successful entry into a server - but this may just be a waste of time. Have fun playing Grand Larceny's Deathmatch Server at "Phil Cassidy's Stubby Shotgun Robbery Dept"! ^ Do this and you can get both San Andreas and Vice working WITHOUT compatibility turned on! This can also fix the random mouse lock-up issue associated with San Andreas as well. NOTE: This solution is NOT a fix for "Access Denied" error messages! If you want to fix that, maybe disable UAC and uninstall all the Windows Updates for Vista or reformat your hard drive and then reinstall it. If still doesn't work, then it is a security feature hidden in Vista. So this doesn't fix the MTA Race problem where people get "Exception Processing" error messages... *UPDATE* Your game might be slightly laggy (although not noticeable) after you do this because of the CPU paying limited attention to the game. To fix this, go into the Main Menu FIRST! Then, simply CTRL-ALT-DEL and switch the priority back to "Normal". Note: You CANNOT CTRL-ALT-DEL right away without going to the main menu first. If you don't do so and then you change the priority, your mouse will freeze. ALSO, if you just launched a server and you see the Start Multi Theft Auto option on the main menu, you can't CTRL-ALT-DEL and change the priorty back to "Normal" there either. If you do, then once you launch the game - expect the camera to not move at all because of a disabled mouse. Switching the priority back has to be done after Vice City and MTA has been loaded completely. And of course, you obviously have to change the priority as soon as you connect to a server. The reason for this is explained already... So to sum it up: 1. Launch an MTAVC server as normal.2. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL immediately before the main menu appears. 3. Select Start Task Manager. 4. Under the Processes tab, right click the gta-vc.exe executable and set the priority to either "Below Normal" or "Low". 5. Switch back to the game. 6. Select Start Multi Theft Auto 7. Go to a desired spawning area. 8. Press ESC! (This is important - you can't just CTRL-ALT-DEL right away!) 9. Now press CTRL+ALT+DEL! 10. Set the priority of gta-vc.exe to "Normal". Return to the game and now both your mouse and camera shouldn't freeze your game, and gameplay should be smooth! LMFAO, was Windows Update the cause of these problems all along? http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?show ... 1057419738 SORRY GUYS IT WASN'T WINDOWS UPDATE AT ALL!!! IT WAS MY REALTEK AC'97 SOUND CARD DRIVERS! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? SOMETHING IS BUGGY GOING IN THE SOUTHBRIDGE AREA ON MY MOTHERBOARD AND IT'S ALL REALTEK'S FAULT. IT IS KINDA BUGGING UP THE CPU FOR SOME REASON I DON'T KNOW. This is why it's better to buy products that are not built into the motherboard. Always buy expansion slot cards, unless there are proper drivers for your onboard chipset. Link to comment
