Guest
Hi there! I recently installed MTA:Deathmatch and came across about 5 problems. But after 1 hour of trying to make things work I've cornerd THE problem, in my case that is. When I install MTA on my computer there is a bunch of files missing! All I get is two folders and two .exe files. And this thing is so strange.. cuz I see when the installer extract the files and there's a lot more than 2 folders and 2 .exe files. They are not hidden or something like that. When I start the game I've got the same problem as many of you here, it freezes when the menu shows etc etc. My point is: How can the game even start if I'm missing a whole bunch of files and folders? And how to make things work? I will be very greatful for every tip and/or help, but I think I've tested almost everything. Thanks. Read reply below for answer! Guest
MY PROBLEM IS FIXED Okey, here's the answer, who might be helpful in other situations as well. You need: A friend or someone who can install MTA and play it correctly. 1. You ask him or her to install MTA and make a .rar of the installation folder. Note: If you have the blackscreen problem or similar, tell your friend to go into settings and unflag everything in Video and then make a .rar of it. 2. Tell your friend to send it to you. 3. Unrar in C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\. 4. Now run the MTA installer and install in C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas (don't touch or do anything to the folder your friend sent). 5. Go to: Start > Run (in vista it's below "all programs") 6. Type in: regedit 7. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas 8. In here you should see 4 files. Right click on (Standard) and select "change". 9. Type in where you unrared the folder your friend sent. (in this case "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\MTA San Andreas" ) When you start MTA it all should work, but you will still have your friends config (buttons, nickname etc etc) so just change it in menu > settings or edit the coreconfig.xml in the data folder. Well I guess that's it. Note: This help is based on Windows Vista so directories and folder names might be a little different from Windows XP. Link to comment
