MTA 1.5.9 and MySQL Database

Hello everyone! I'm not very skilled in scripting, but I'm attempting to revive an MTA server that I used to play on for nostalgic reasons. The script I'm working with is open source, but it relies on a MySQL database. The challenge I'm facing is integrating this database into MTA 1.5.9, and I'm also inexperienced to the point where I wouldn't be able to rewrite the entire script. Could anyone provide guidance or assistance on how to successfully combine the MySQL database with MTA 1.5.9 without having to rewrite the entire script? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
