I cannot get this started

I'd like to think I'm doing everything right. But everytime I attempt to start a game... I get this message

Any help with this would GREATLY be appreciated. I'm pulling my hair here attempting to figure it out.

I'm pretty dense... and what was stated in the thread is pretty vague to me. Please I need help with this

uninstall both mta and gta, and then install again

Make sure your ingame cilent game version is set at 1.1 instead of 0.1 and the game itself has the patch installed. The game should be played in single player for roughly and few short minutes or seconds before installing MTA. I have had the popup common in the past and ive normally forgot to do one of the two above or something else ive forgot out of my head to explain, though other procedures have been converted in the past to stop causing this specific error.

Searching for other topics within this section might also be a good idea if you havent already done so because it has been mentioned before during the past.

hopefully this can be used for future reference, but what had happened was that I previously installed the GTA: Liberty City Mod, though I had uninstalled vice city... then reinstalled it, the weapon.dat file remained. I had to delete, not uninstall GTAVC, then reinstall... everything ran as expected after the fact.
