my mta wont start the game

when i join a server and click start game, a window comes up asking for my gta3.exe. When i move my mouse over the drop down bar it locks up my mta and the window. I went to the Known Issues and did everything i could but it still wont work. Can somebody please help me

Is your game a downloaded copy and/or have you used any cracks?

Similar problems can occur from these situations.
