proxy_sa.exe

I am having a problem where MTA:SA says is has to update DEF, then it says that an instance of gta sa is running and that it must be terminated before the update goes on, but it always fails to end the process, I check task manager and I see no gta_sa.exe, instead there is proxy_sa.exe which can't be killed, startups with Windows, and is always eating 4GB of RAM, any help?
