Can't understand hud.lua

Hello. So I'm simply translating one gamemode and there are some words that I need to translate in English and it's located in HUD. I've found the file which contains that word that I want to translate and when I translated and after that started the server it didn't load.. Like nothing appeared, only black screen. Then I left the word in a original language and then server load everything is fine.. Also why the fail has this weird letters? Please help!

You can't edit this file because It's compiled, that's why the file has weird letters.

Ok. But how do I change the language? Because in the game there is "Selector de idioma" and I want to translate it into English "Select Language". I was looking for that "Selector de idioma" and found it in hud.lua

So it's not possible to change it somehow?

Well, as I mentioned above if the file is compiled then it's impossible to edit the file

Ask the scripter who has the original file, he might help you.
