Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

Oh well, I haven't found any topic dedicated to this game, so I'll post it now & here

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (in short, ET) is a full free multiplayer first person shooter game, based on Quake III Arena engine. The game was originally going to be a retail expansion pack for Return To Castle Wolfenstein, but the project was cancelled and Activision decided to release it to the community for free in May 2003.

ET is a team game; you will win or fall along with your comrades. The only way to complete the objectives that lead to victory is by cooperation, with each player covering their teammates and using their class special abilities in concert with the others.

The game is unique in that it has moving objectives that makes the gameplay a lot of fun!

Man, doesn't this like come a lil' late? This game's best times are over, now it is dying slowly. It is a lot of fun but don't play it if you want a game to be realistic. I myself prefer Quake3 to this any time . Enemy Territory is a great solution if you have a bad PC because this game's graphix are ugly and the confing can make them even worse. Even though my post seems totally negative I did play the game for about 1.5 years and I actually found it fun, sometimes.

i love this game. i finally downloaded it a week ago (after being told i should get it over a year ago) and been having lots of fun. It is very active when i took a look at it, tonnes of servers filled, if its dying, its dying slowly

The competitive and professional scene for it seems to be better than before. An ET tournament appeared again on the recent Quakecon, it had also other dedicated, mainstream LAN tournament in Holland few months ago, and will have another one (digitalarena.pl) in a few weeks. (I don't count the local/national tournaments/LANs dedicated to it ofc, would be quite a lot of them )

So with this LAN, and the newly opened ClanBase Fall 06 cup season, things can only get better
