Many users have reported problems with logging in and out or being suddenly logged out when visiting forums.
We are aware of four separate issues related to logging in/out (the ones listed in italic text are fixed):
- You have logged in to forums, yet you suddenly get logged out when you visit forum's home page or subpages. After visiting a subforum or another subpage, you get logged back in.
- You have tried logging in through the drop down login box, but it did not log you in the first time. Instead, you were redirected to a dedicated login page and was able to successfully login to forums through that.
- You have logged in to forums and chosen the 'Remember me' option so that forum remembers your login, but were logged out after a while (1 - 1.5 hours) of inactivity anyway.
- You are logged in but can not log out. Pressing Sign Out button has no effect. -- This is a one-time issue fixable by end-users only (in other words, you).
If you are experiencing the first issue, keep in mind that you are still logged in to forums actually. You can visit any subforum to regain access to your account. If you visit the home page (or a page where you have experienced it) again though, you might experience this issue again. Visit another subforum to 'resolve' it.
We have made some changes and several users have reported that the first issue is fixed now. If you are still experiencing that problem, please let me know via a forum PM (jhxp) or contact us on IRC: #mta channel on GTANet; or Twitter - @MTAQA.
The second and third issues are still there and we are currently investigating them. These issues should be fixed now. Please delete cookies related to MTA Forums, then log in to forums again, or else you might run into fourth issue. Likewise, PM me if it is not fixed for you.
The fourth issue is really rare and might be affecting users who have logged in to MTA Forums during the first hours of the forum re-opening, but is also easily fixable. Simply try clearing your browser cache and delete cookies related to MTA Forums, then reload the forum's home page and you should be no longer logged in.
