I just started learning Vb a week ago , and thanx to all the help from close friends , i got a good start . but sometimes when everyone is offline on msn .. and no help to get . U get really bored with "limits" so since i was so bored i decited to make a nice little tool for all those people who visit the MTA forum every 5 minutes to check for new posts ..

Its a simple application that has a browser inside of it , When u start it , it loads up forum.mtavc.com faster than Normal IE would . And it has a nice window , i know this is not a replace , but as many people who tested said , it is nice to have it around the desktop , it takes much less ram than IE or other brownsers would , and .. well . its compact ,

I did version 0.1 , which only had the browser and no controls , but soon found that .. u had to keep changing pages for the main forum page to reload , cause it did not have the reload botton , so i made version 0.2 which includes 4 bottons , Back , Foward , Home and refresh .

Here is some screenshots of it :

You can download (MTAFV) here :

Latest Version (0.1.6)

.ZIP : http://home.comcast.net/~dgtadude/mtafv/Multi_Theft_Auto_Forum_Viewer_0.1.6.zip

.EXE : http://home.comcast.net/~dgtadude/mtafv/mtafv0.1.6.exe

I do ask that if you find any bugs or have any sugestions , please post them here (hopefully this topic wont get locked up due to spam)

P.S : I have found a tiny bug , when you start . and it firsts loads up the page , do not click back or foward , or it will crash , later when you have surfed trough more pages , then the back and foward bottons will work .

Also , I know this kinda sux .. But Please , before you post a reply saying how much you hate it , Since i dont know much yet , this was the best i could do in VB ...

Edit : This integrates IE into VB , but with less files used , So if your Internet Explorer is full of ads , has damaged files or just inst working right . Do not try this out . or it'll be the same as opening a IE ..

I Do plan in making a Popup blocker later on and make this a actual browser for the web , not just the forum.

Thanx

Thanx dude , i have made a quick upgrade on this version , the upgrade can be downloaded here : http://home.comcast.net/~dgtadude/mtafv.zip

Belive it or not , after compressed it became 5kb , lol .

The updates on this one was small . Just a new "About" page ,

also i made less IE files load up , so i guess it should load up even faster ,

This version i have made a little smaller on the width , but im using A widescreen right now , so i dont know if it'll look too big ,

altough i was still unable to find a "Cure" for the bug on the back and foward botton the first time u start the program , if someone with more experience knows , please contact me. Thanx dudes for all the support :P

Same here.

I got some suggestions:

Dunno what the reason is that your using such small buttons but they are too small , it makes it look ugly.maybe make them a little bigger.

Why did you make it full view?

It doesnt look good, you do need something at the bottom, i dunno what tought as a status bar would be pointless if the page loads as fast as you say.

Maybe a clock? Thats the only thing i could think off ,but seriously think about adding something to the bottom and do add a scroll bar at the side,i know this takes up some viewable space but it will make it look better.

I know its still very early to ask for but , is there any chance of this viewer supporting other forums?

i dont know if you allready has this but heres some suggestions:

1. Download all the images from the forum, add them up and change in the little program that all "xxx.xxx.com/xx/xx.jpg" should be a picture in the images, with this it should load like shit fast if all the images allready is there :P

2. would be cool with a bar where you can choose forums :)

3. maby a button like "the newest thread/psot

maybe this is a noob question but..

would this program affect banned people from viewing/posting rights?

No, but can't banned people view the forums anyway?

Banned Usernames can , but banned people no . This program does not allow Banned people to view the forum , And thanx dude for all the sugestions , ill do the new upgrade today with the recommendations you guys made , altough , some of them might be advanced for me , but i'll try my best

I Also took pictures of this New version, they can be found here :

Also :

I did most of the changes you guys requested , altough i was not able to do the "you chose the window size" kinda thing , still working on that .

I hope you guys like the new version i made...

This one took a bit more time then the original one , because I started working with multiple forms , insted of a single , i might also release the scource code (even tough its mad easy to make one your self)

So people can edit and add there own links in it .. Might be a bit more customizable

Thanx for all your opnions , and yes , i do agree with blokker , it ends up as a IE .. Altough ... well ..

I still need to learn how to make my own Browser .. lol.
