can't reinstall with my account

hi, i had pc problems and lost my main hdd. when i go to reinstall on my seconded hdd it won't get past the part where you put in your account details. so i can reinstall mta but only if i skip the account part. is the server for that down or something?

Don't worry about it, just skip it... should automatically detect your "Serial" off your computer, I don't think hdd but I could be wrong. Try it with skipping it though, wouldn't hurt it.

yea its a registry key so it would have gone with the hard drive i lost. i did try skipping it but when i try to start mta it says invalid serial and says to reinstall it.

i just checked it again, to reinstall it again but it still won't go past the account details screen

Did you try entering your account details in? Should be just your username and password.

ye thats what i mean. i put in my user name and password (checked in email and its defiantly right) press next, nothing....

gonna try putting my key in manually with some help. lol

ye that worked perfect, for anyone with the same problem who bothers to use the search,

goto https://community.multitheftauto.com/

and sign into your beta account. find your serial, under my view.

then goto your start bar and use run (or press windows key + r)

type in regedit.

find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas

open that and create a new string called Username.

and set the value to your mtabeta account user name.

then create one more string named Serial then inside that you type your serial

then run the game.
