Still get DE9 with DP2. Upon joining, resource files are created in the clients local resources folder, but no data is put in to the files and they all stay at 0kb.

It now appears that this is caused by the MTA software itself, and is not due to a configuration error. This is a snippet of chat from IRC:

(20:11:38) (&Jax) its trying a bad url Jani

(20:11:57) (&Jax) .../resources/admin/client%5Cimages%5Cwarning.png

(20:11:58) (&Jax) instead of

(20:11:59) (&Jax) .../resources/admin/client/images/warning.png

~

(20:15:31) (+Jani) %5C is backslash

(20:15:35) (+Jani) not forwardslash

(20:16:20) (+Jani) surely it would only use backslash if it was looking for resources in a system folder rather than at a url?

(20:16:46) (&Jax) yeah

(20:16:49) (&Jax) thats obviously the problem

if you had it also in dp1, its your mistake...

You need to unpack all files to www server and use the link...

But in dp2 it doesnt work =l

  • 4 weeks later...

we are gettting this problem on our server too, not using external download mirror now , but players are still having trouble downloading the resources, either very slow download or none at all, some people get a hanging crash and are unable to get back to desktop. each time you rejoin a little more of the files needed have been downloaded untill after 4-7 times u can finally join but obviously only regualars are that persistant, losing lots of players here, whats going on please ?

ps. some people who have not joined b4 get absolutely no problem what so ever, very strange ! any idears mta team ?
