AlienX Software Announces [Multi Theft Audio - Radio]

AlienX

Question

Hello all.

Last night i started a radio station up, formally known as AlienX Radio but thought it would be cool to share the experance #mta (GTANET) had last night with the rest of the world...

So i am officially starting Multi Theft Auto: Radio, the radio will soon include news updates that wont be posted on the forums and also any song you request, we play!

Join GTANET and #MTA today... Connect to: irc.mtavc.com

There are currently no scheduled times for the radio to be broadcasted, but it normally happens every night at around 7:00 (GMT+0)

If you have winamp, you can tune in via this link:

http://stream.alienxradio.co.uk:9000/listen.pls

Ive been told it works on Real Player too.

For all you guys and gals out there that use Windows Media Player... Download Winamp, cause quite frankly, WMP is a buch of poop...

but if you dont want to use Winamp, then in your WMP do this:

1) Open WMP

2) Hold CTRL and Hit U

3) type in http://stream.alienxradio.co.uk:9000

4) Press OK

You can now listen to MTA:Radio!

Hope to see all of you who are going to be tuned in at #mta in GTANET!

Note: Requests are accepted only via IRC, if you wish to request a song please PM me in the channel, or highlight me with your request.

- Not all requests are played, and if we got enough complaits about the song, then it will be skipped.

There isn't a logical reason for a station that comes on at different times. I tried it just now, and it's offline, lol.

Why not stream it, like regular ShoutCast stations? (then update the streams, when new information comes available). However, in this case, judging by how much content you include - it could become very repetitious and redundant.

Would help if it was constantly streaming as well.

It takes a lot of resources to get a Online Radio station up and going, I know so myself owning http://sunkissradio.com. I had to shutdown due to monatairy issues.

Be sure and know what your getting yourself into with online radio, because it might be all glamerous at first, but then the interest drops and you fail loosing money in the process.

Plan well, and very well before you atempt such a thing.

My suggestion to you, don't go solo, have a team with you to bring this thing to life.

Great Shoutcast host that allows you to stream in Winamp, Quicktime, Real Player, Itunes, VLC Media Player and Windows Media Player (http://viastreaming.net)
