    I talked to XCripsy and I guess him and Db worked something out but I don't know where it stands now. XC is free to recruit whoever he wants. Im fine with it but I wish XCripsy knew how to use a forum so things can be official when he lets ppl in...

    This thread reminds me of the Japanese guys who were found stranded on deserted islands 40 years after WWII

    the war is over... everyone moved on...

    What is the purpose of a gang without a game? There is enough loyaty in this mod and in some of our gangs, ULK an KFC and some others for sure... that when the next great version is out we will return.

    This is shocking

    I knew him very well through this game. I started KFC back in Nov 2003 and he joined a few months later and helped me build the gang. I have spoken to him about many many things and given him advice etc... He had some balls and he was stubborn. That made for some interesting times. I was always sure he would be a sucess and go on to big things. Im a tad older and Im old enough to know I didn't even begin living at 18. It's just plain tragic.

    KFC wouldn't have been a gang without him... don't know if that belongs in an obituary but he had leadership skills and he wasn't afraid to say what he thought... that would have gotten him places.

    I didn't always agree with him but I always liked him. I am sure I'll never forget him. I have a lot of fond memories and maybe a million stories and pms. I was reading thru our forum and there is a section that only me and wheel had access to that we used to plan our gang's future. It's amazing how much you can be affected by the loss of someone you never really met.

    Im not interested in advertising the KFC forum... I'd like a few less people there to be honest. Look at the stats of that forum compared to any other MTA gang :wink:

    I think that because they have taken what seems like forever to release this they want to wait just that much longer to get it right. If they pumped it out in a few months people would be more forgiving of bugs but the flames that will come if this one is buggy will be worse because of the time it took to develope.

    I think it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. Some asshole is going to complain no matter how perfect this is.

    However, I think this race mod has the potential to reach a much wider audience than MTA ever has attracted before. I know personally of at least 10 people I couldn't get to try MTA more than once that would play the racer everyday. When the racer is expanded into Deathmatch they would already be comfortable with the product and more likely to use it.

    The key is a good first impression. For that reason, Im glad they are taking thier time.

    There was a rumor that Walmart and Google were planning a low cost PC running a Google OS. At CES yesterday Larry Page gave the keynote address and when he was asked about what happened to the Google OS he said "Was there supposed to be one?" < Not a denial

    I think this guy on the Mac Forum has hit the nail on the head.

    I've been thinking, for a few months anyway, that Google might be doing something very crazy in the computer industry. Mind you, this idea is HIGHLY speculative but hear me out:

    Things Google is, or is rumored to be, doing:

    Gmail - browser-accessable email services with 2.5+GB of usable space. More than enough for the email needs of the majority of users.

    Goffice - simply a rumor, but this would be a MS:Office competitor only you don't need to install it on your computer. It is, once again, browser accessible.

    Dark Fiber - Google is known to be buying up large amounts of dark fiber (fiber already laid, but too costly for other companies to turn active). Fiber is a major source of bandwidth.

    Google "mini-clusters" - "compact" computing rooms that Google is having developed, that can be deployed at a remote location with both large amount of processing power and storage space.

    Free Wi-Fi - Free Wi-Fi to San Francisco. A beta to a faster, free wi-fi connection?

    Job Descriptions - Google's job descriptions are looking for people qualified in making applications central to an operating system.

    Now the conclusion:

    What if... WHAT IF... Google was going to do thin client, but on a public scale?

    You take your GooglePC and boot it up, wirelessly, for free, in a major metropolitan area. "From where does it boot?" do you ask? How about from a Google mini-cluster connected to the wi-fi transmitters?

    The computer boots up to a browser. You can access everything you wanted to from a normal machine. Email is accessible through Gmail. You work on your documents with Goffice using the browser. But wait, you have to save your documents SOMEWHERE... right? How about in the glorious 2.5+GB of space that Google's given everyone?

    This system (if it even exists in our future) takes Microsoft out of the arena, they have no place. However, I can see that it would give Apple a leg up, serving consumers that need the immediate speed of a local machine (such as with media production, games, etc.).

    Call me crazy... just throwing the idea out there.

    If you ever shot ahead of someone to hit them ... you glitched

    If you ever jumped or crouched or switched weapons while using any weapon with reload amins... you glitched

    If you ever helijacked someone so they would die... you glitched

    MTA is a glitch... anyone who has even been any good at MTA has used glitches...

    The "holier than thou" ppl say it's a not a glitch if you didn't mean it... I say if you shoot from your asshole or kneecap or appear behind me in an instant I don't care how you did it... it's not fair.

    Since MTA hasn't been able to eliminate the glitches the only recourse I saw was to teach them to the ppl who are victims of them. That is why you type !tip in partyserver to learn some glitches.

    Glitches are part of the game in MTA and there is no way to tell if some of them are used. The only fair thing is to just acknowledge this fact so you have an even playing field.

    You weren't here when this all started... you were the only member of a gang with 2 leaders and 3 total people.

    The few people who were still playing VC went off to play VC:MP until that was abandoned and then it was hard to resort back to playing MTA. MTA can attract people to servers easier because of the built in browser but the gameplay isn't close to what VC:MP has.

    I don't know what you call the group of people who play a game long after the die hards have left but Im sorta one of those now as I do play MTAVC.

    As far as the Blue progress goes... I think many ppl, myself included, have put that away like a savings bond that you will find one day later when it matures and say, "wow, that's cool I have some money" because if you waited at the bank for it to mature it would drive you insane. So I don't really read the updates I figure when it's released it will be like finding a $20 in your jeans... year 2 or 3 of waiting makes me feel a bit like the sad charaters in the GTAT forum a few years back.

    btw, I have a sneaky suspicion that Chronic put SF3 up to that post for some reason... hmmm

    reinstall MTAMA and GRS and then look at the mta.data file

    Find a location in there and type !area then !sethouse to that area and see if it makes you the owner...

    Also... make sure you are using admin + in the mtama

    that's all I have... if it doesn't work go over these steps from the start

    Let me say... I didn't write this and I can't script an away message. This is entirely the work of aeron/Jax and Oli respectively...

    Italian... If you found the file with your saved locations in it rename that to mta.data and you should be fine.

    OK... the area script saved itself in your mIRC folder with a name slightly different than MTA.data..

    I can't remembe what is calls itself.

    Rename your mta.data file and then rename your !area script file mta.data

    Your locations are saved but until you rename the file mta.data it will not retrieve them ingame
